Access your course analytics by navigating to Memberships > Analytics. This is where you find the data that tells you what is happening after students enroll.

What You Can Track

  • Overall course completion — percentage of students who finished
  • Individual lesson completion — which lessons get finished vs abandoned
  • Login frequency — who is active vs dormant
  • Download activity — which resources are most popular

Click any course name to drill into module-level and lesson-level data. Look for patterns in drop-off points.

CRM Integration

Every student automatically becomes a contact in your CRM. Course activity generates CRM data. When a student completes a module or finishes the course, GHL can apply tags to their contact record. Set these up in Memberships > Settings. Common tags: “course-complete,” “module-1-finished,” “module-2-finished.”

Filter contacts by tag and you have a segmented list. Everyone who finished Module 3 but has not started Module 4 gets a targeted email. Everyone with “course-complete” is your testimonial pool — or your pitch list for the next program.

Re-Engagement Automation

Build a workflow for students who go quiet. Create an automation with the trigger “Last Login > 14 days ago,” filtered to contacts who have your course tag but not the completion tag. Send an email mentioning where they left off, with a button linking directly to that lesson. If they do not log in within 7 days, send a second email with a different angle.

Course Improvement

If analytics show 80% of students drop off at Module 4, Lesson 2, you have a clear signal. That lesson is the problem — too long, too confusing, or missing something. Revise it, then watch the numbers shift.

Check analytics weekly during a live launch and monthly for evergreen courses. The data only helps if you act on it.

Keep going — you're making progress through Set Up Your Course in GoHighLevel.
