The VSL Call to Action
The CTA is the most important 60 seconds of your VSL. Everything you’ve built — the hook, the problem, the solution, the offer — leads here.
Verbal CTA
Tell them exactly what to do. Be specific and sequential.
“Click the button below this video. Enter your information. You’ll get instant access.”

Notice the clarity. No ambiguity about what happens next.
On-Screen CTA
The buy button should appear at the right moment — not too early. A visible button before they’re ready creates distraction and anxiety (“Am I supposed to buy already?”).
Time the button reveal for maximum motivation: right after you present the offer stack and guarantee.
Text Overlay on Video
Reinforce the action with on-screen text:
- Button text: “Instant Access” or “Start Now”
- Price: “Only $297” or “3 payments of $99”
- Urgency (if applicable): “Enrollment closes Friday”
Walk Them Through What Happens
Reduce uncertainty by explaining the next steps:
“After you click, you’ll create an account, choose your payment method, and get immediate access to Module 1.”
This takes 10 seconds and removes a common hesitation point.
Multiple CTAs Strategy
Some VSLs place the button below the video from the start (visible but not verbally emphasized), then reinforce it verbally at the peak moment. The button is always there for ready buyers; your verbal direction catches the ones who needed the full pitch.
Sticky CTA for Mobile
On mobile, use a sticky “Buy Now” bar that stays at the bottom of the screen. Viewers can’t miss it, and they don’t have to scroll back up after watching.
Don’t Soft-Pedal
Be direct. “If this course is right for you, here’s what to do next.”
Not: “If you want, you could maybe consider…”
You’ve earned the right to ask for the sale. Ask clearly.
Keep going — you're making progress through Video Sales Letters.
